Interior Design Projects - How I Work

It’s important that you know how I work on the interior design projects I undertake.

Each project starts with an initial meeting of an hour or so. It gives me an idea of the scale and scope of your interior design project, and allows us both to get to know each other. This first meeting is chargeable at my normal design rates. However, if you go ahead with your project after this meeting, then the cost will be deducted from your first invoice.

Based on this first meeting I will write up detailed notes for myself, and prepare a quotation; any design work (including colour/sample boards) is charged at my agreed rate. This can be hourly, daily or, sometimes, if you prefer, a total amount for your project. Sourcing of materials, furniture, artworks and so on is charged at the same rate as design time, although travel time is at a lower rate. If you choose to go ahead with me, I will very quickly come back to you with timing and a proposed schedule for your work.

At the moment, I am working mainly in the West Country – Bath, Wells, Bristol and Taunton. However, depending on the project, I am also happy to travel to any part of the country, including London.

I will always be clear with you, as I go, how much time I am clocking up, so that charges are not unexpected. Invoicing is done monthly, and I would appreciate payment within 14 days. For the moment, I am not VAT registered. If you would like to get in touch, please where you can find my contact numbers or send me an email via the form.
